The diamond pattern is the most effective, it consists of straight grooves and diagonal grooves or otherwise known as a double cut. With the diamond pattern, the cows get traction in any direction which works well where they are doing a lot of pushing. We recommend the diamond pattern in high-traffic areas, around corners, in front of doorways, and when pen breeding with a bull.
Grooving prevents splitting and abscesses from slippery cement in freestall alleys, holding pens, crossovers, cow yards and any other area your livestock is on cement. Grooving helps with heat detection, hoof trimming and herd health. Lower your cows stress= more milk production= more MOOOOOLA $ !
My Grooves are 3/4 inches wide spaced 3-1/2 inches apart and 3/8inches deep. I have grooved for thousands of dairy farmers and other livestock industries since 1992.
My business continues to grow through referrals from satisfied farmers, I sincerely “THANK YOU” for recommending P&D Grooving!
My Grandpa said:
Do a good job for a farmer we’ll tell a handful of other farmers, do a bad job and we’ll tell everyone!
Grooving Doesn’t Cost…. It Pay’s!
Farmers like working with me because I respect your Farm and your time, I pay attention to the movement of your cows and groove accordingly to give your cows the best traction possible. I also make sure your cows are not away from feed or water for a long period of time. AND GATES ARE CLOSED BEHIND ME!
While dairy farmers make up the majority of my barn floor grooving friends, I have also grooved for Beef producers, Processing plants, Sale barns,
Grooving not only “Prevents against the Splits” but also helps with heat detection and milk productiion. Farmers have told me their milk production increased after they had grooving done due to the fact that it lowers the cows stress level and they stay at the bunk and eat longer.
Vets, breeders, hoof trimmers have said having the grooving makes it easier and safer moving the cows around.
